Brow and Forehead Lift

How can I improve my tired looking eyes?

Aging around the eyes can make people look tired despite being well rested. Eyebrows that droop, eyelids with excess skin and puffiness and wrinkles around the eyes can all contribute to a tired, non-rested appearance.

Often, drooping eyebrows are an overlooked feature that can significantly contribute to that tired look.

A brow and forehead lift is used to rise the brow and place it in a more aesthetically pleasing location. In women, elevating the brow, especially near the temple, conveys a powerful rejuvenated appearance. This procedure is often combined with a upper lid blepharoplasty to remove excess skin from the eyelid.

When patients come in for consultation regarding their eyes, we always look to see that the brow is in proper position. In women it should be well above the bony rim of the eye socket and in men it should be at the level of the eye socket.

Sometimes, a browlift is performed with the use of an endoscope/camera through five small incisions in the hair bearing region of your scalp. This allows detaching to bony attachments of your eyelid to the deeper bone structures and suturing it up higher along your scalp. Other times, an incision is made across your scalp to remove excess skin to create the lift. In both procedures, muscles that cause wrinkles between the eyes are damaged to create a smoother appearance in the region between your eyebrows. Overall, the goal is to restore a younger and well rested appearance around the eyes.
