PROFILE: THE IMPORTANCE OF A STRONG CHIN
The ideal chin projection is a chin that touches a line dropped perpendicular from the edge to the lower lip. Anything less than this is a person who needs a chin implant. Depending upon the age of the individual (early teens) a small incision under the chin and an insertion of a chin implant can be done frequently with a rhinoplasty (nose job). However, in the aging process, as the face swallows the neck, in order to create a better contour and neck line, frequently Dr. Dedo will insert a chin implant at the time of a facelift. (Did you know that there is no added cost for a chin implant with a facelift when being treated by Dr. Dedo?) So if Dr. Dedo can possibly put a chin implant in when he is doing a facelift in he will do so because it will achieve two results. First, it will give an illusion of a longer neck by increasing the projection of the chin. Secondly, by increasing and building up on the foundation of the face, it will allow the skin to be redraped under increased tension thereby giving a better result.
